Guest
Sometimes I ponder the thought that no one truly talks anymore. Rather, we are caught up in a world of our own, where we can say(type) whatever we choose with almost no repercussions. Just think of speaking out loud the voice inside that is brought forth on message boards/blogs and emails? Is this truly your thoughts or just a manifestation of what you wish you could say? I for one choose to speak my feelings and opinions out loud. I have come to a point that most of us are simply infatuated with what they are able to post on a message board. Somehow they gain a sense of release in saying something that they would most likely choose to not speak out loud. Just think of this, if the release you seek is quenched by typing, only imagine the feeling of actually hearing yourself say it? As I am typing this I quess someone could say there is a bit of hypocrisy but to each their own.....Sorry, just felt like typing(while speaking out loud) something a bit different to make you think? My point in this is that people should sometimes act a bit more real. How many times do you walk by someone with a bunch of thoughts running through your head about them. I bet similar thoughts are going through there brain? Who knows maybe that person could have become your best friend or even a soulmate? I guess you will never know! Guest
Speaking/typing your mind on a forum, blog or whatever is something else than having a discussion with another person or several persons across the table. I don't see any problem with free speech, but sometimes people don't understand how far their words can reach. What you may intend as a harmless remark that shouldn't be taken seriously at all, can be turned into something hurtful by someone else or understood as very negative. We live more and more in a world where everything has to move fast, but we forget that we ourselves still have the possibility to slow down things when it's needed. We still can read and re-read someone else's messages and try to understand what the person is trying to say or what his/her motivation is. We still have the option of ignoring that person's post if it is intended to hurt people or contains factual lies or misconceptions of the truth, we don't have to listen or react, because sometimes that's all what's behind it, enticing reactions. And sometimes, people just want to blow off steam, just vent, to release pressure. No matter what you may feel or think about a person you've never met or just came across, the only thing that matters is what are your feelings and thoughts when you actually know that person.
